Welcome to Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lalitpur

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Lalitpur was sanctioned in 2005 by Indian Council of Agriculture Research "ICAR" for assessment and evaluation of technology for speeding up of the agricultural production in the district of Lalitpur. The centre is affiliated with C.S. Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur. KVK Lalitpur is situated in village Khiriya Mishr on Deogarh Road away 11 Km. from Lalitpur city.


Major Activities

Major activities of KVKs are to conduct on farm trial, front line demonstration, on & off campus training programmes, field and diagnostic visit, solve farmers technical problem through mobile communication. Training programme for rural youth for employment generation, conduct training programme for extension functionaries, Linkage with line department, participation in their governing board meeting, Kisan Diwas, participating in farmers fair, field days and kisan gosthies of line department


Objectives

KVK, Lalitpur has the following mandate under which the extension programmes are conducted by the KVK Scientists :

  1. Conducting on-farm testing to identify the location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems.
  2. Organizing frontline demonstrations to establish production potential of various crops and enterprises on the farmers’ fields.
  3. Organizing need based training of farmers to update their knowledge and skills in modern agricultural technologies related to technology assessment, refinement and demonstration and training of extension personnel to orient them in the frontier areas of technology development.
  4. Creating awareness about improved technologies to larger masses through appropriate extension programmes.
  5. Production and supply of good quality seeds and planting materials, livestock, poultry and fisheries breeds and products and various bio-products to the farming community.
  6. Work as resource and knowledge centre of agricultural technology for supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sector for improving the agricultural economy of the district.
